UPA Leagues Intensify Presence in Wyoming

3/10/2010  -

PHOENIX, AZ - The United States Professional Poolplayers Association's (UPA) League of Champions continues to spread across the United States like wildfire. One of the more recent states to add its players to the UPA's league roster within the past year, Wyoming. To continue to build upon the league system's platform, the Third Annual Platte Valley Open will be held April 2nd through April 4th in Saratoga, Wyoming.

The $10,000 total added inaugural event will be held at Platte Valley Community Center with $7,000 added going to the Masters Division (open to all players); $2,000 to the Classic Division (Wyoming Intermediate); and $700 to the Sportsman Division (Carbon County Beginners).

The entry deadline for the tournament is March 26, 2010. Only paid entry spots will be reserved.

For more information on this event or to forward your entry, contact E.J. Glode, P.O. Box 605, Saratoga, Wyoming 82331. He can be reached at (307) 329-8924 or email ejglode@yahoo.com.

Wyoming's League Operator, Heather Curby, is looking forward to expanding the UPA throughout her state and stated recently: "We've been able to expand our League of Champions to surrounding areas. It's fun and exciting to inform the players of how the league operates and the benefits involved. My favorite aspect of the League of Champions is the rating system and how it breaks down all avenues of your game including your break, foul, and miss percentages. It offers the player input into the areas improvement might be needed as well as one's strengths. Another great tool we are able to offer is rankings with other shooters across the nation and not just in your immediate divisions. The league has definitely been a rewarding experience as an operator and I look forward to many more great seasons in the future!" Click here to find a UPA Pool League near you.

We want to also congratulate UPA monthly winners: Amanda Pulley won a brand new Instroke case and Allen Murphy took home a brand new Poison AR4 Cue from Poison Cues! Each month the UPA continues to draw for prizes from our gracious sponsors Instroke Cases and Poison Cues so get your name in the hat and we might see your name here next time around.

Looking to initiate your own league? It's a great time to get started as the UPA is offering discounts on its territory licenses for new league operators.
